Volunteering at PAC
Wow! The Prescott Astronomy Club has come a long way in the last couple of years.
- Membership has grown significantly (over 150 members as of 9/2025)
- The speaker program has grown in popularity and our meeting attendance is larger than ever.
- Star parties and outreach events are popular with local residents and visitors
- Our Starry Nights and Outreach programs have increased and public awareness has grown.
These successes are due to the hard work of the club’s board and volunteers. Thanks goes to everyone for all of your enthusiasm and generosity!
To help the club move forward and even expand our activities, more volunteers are needed. The following list shows our current needs. Contact info for each person is on the Contacts Page, accessible from the menu at the top of this page.
Here are the volunteer positions that are available:

| Telescope Volunteers for Starry Nights and Outreach Star Parties | Expand our pool of telescope volunteers and guides, members who will answer questions and guide others around the sky. Events include public star parties, private outreach events, and others. Contact Brian Blau. |
| Picnic | Help with setup and cleanup. Show up early or stay late. Contact Roland Albers. |
| Christmas Party | Assist with party favors, name cards, and door prizes. Contact Roland Albers. |
| Refreshments | Help and backup for the snack table. Contact Jill Albers. |
| School Outreach | Coordinate and plan astronomical topics/activities with school teachers. Contact Art Arnold-Roksandich. |
| Outreach Coordinator | Handle private requests, especially for youth camps and celestial events like eclipses and comets. Contact Brian Blau. |
| Dark Site Committee | Work on dark sky issues in Prescott and Yavapai County. Promote dark sky awareness. Contact Brian Blau. |
| Publicity and Social Media | Notify local media of upcoming events and establish a social media presence. Contact Brian Blau. |
| Photo and Video | Document club events through photo and video. Manage Zoom video when needed. Contact Brian Blau. |
