The Prescott Astronomy Club offers to members the ability to borrow club-owned equipment for the purpose of astronomy education and becoming familiar with the operation of telescopes, mounts, and their accessories.
The loaner program enables PAC members to use the available equipment as an introduction to amateur astronomy, or to those more advanced who want to try different observation equipment.
Terms of Use: Any member who borrows a telescope must review and follow these guidelines:
All borrowers must a current club member with all dues paid.
Borrowers must transport the loaned equipment to and from its storage location.
A PAC board member will conduct a training session with equipment borrowers to ensure they are familiar with the operation of any loaner equipment before it’s checked out.
Equipment is checked out 60 days. Borrowers will be given time extensions unless another member is waiting for the borrowed equipment, or its been requested to be returned. All borrowed equipment must be returned to the storage location at the end of the borrow period.
Borrowers must maintain all aspects of checked out equipment.
Lost or damaged equipment must be reported as soon as possible to loaner program manager. Borrowers are expected to replace, at fair market value, any equipment that is lost, stolen, or cannot be easily repaired.
